2.º jantar-debate do Clube Eborense, 25 de Março

Promover a reflexão e o debate, de forma livre, aberta, tolerante e de respeito mútuo, são os principais objectivos do Clube Eborense, que foi recentemente criado. Nesse sentido, é uma iniciativa aberta a todas as pessoas de quaisquer credos, ideologias, raças e misteres, que se identifiquem com os seus objectivos. Numa palavra: o teste para a tolerância não é ver como lidamos com as pessoas ou os hábitos com os quais nos sentimos identificados, mas como encontramos solução para o que nos parece estranho ou diferente.
Pelo contexto da mais grave crise internacional de que há memória, pelo ciclo inédito de três actos eleitorais (europeias, autárquicas e legislativas), é nosso entender que o País precisa de espaços informais e de debates, procurando contribuir para uma sociedade plural, livre e inclusiva.
Como é do conhecimento de alguns de vós, o primeiro jantar-debate realizou-se a 27 de Fevereiro de 2009, no espaço Restaurante Arena d’Évora, e que contou com a boa hospitalidade do Prof. Arquitecto João Rosado Correia. O primeiro orador convidado foi o cidadão Dr. José Ernesto d’Oliveira, que partilhou com os presentes como gostaria que fosse Évora em 2020 – “Um lugar de criatividade e excelência. Valores de futuro com séculos de história”.
Este jantar-debate proporcionou uma agradável conversa com o orador convidado, o que ofereceu a todos os presentes diferentes visões e perspectivas sobre um tema que motiva os empresários, políticos, académicos, etc.
A promoção desta tertúlia foi um passo ousado, segundo a opinião de alguns analistas, e mereceu uma cobertura mediática muito positiva e amiúde elogiosa pelo jornal Diário do Sul. Dado o sucesso desta iniciativa, o Clube Eborense pretendeu voltar a surpreender com uma nova tertúlia. Para o segundo jantar-debate, convidámos o cidadão Dr. José Braga Gonçalves, autor de dois romances históricos sobre a vida oculta do Marquês do Pombal: “O Maçon de Viena” e “O Príncipe Rosa Cruz”, editados pela Prime Books, em 2005, e que nos trouxe uma reflexão sobre “O lado oculto do Marquês de Pombal”.

O custo do jantar é de 20,00 Euros, por pessoa. O valor indicado será pago à entrada do jantar, onde um conjunto de voluntários efectuará a cobrança.

2009 Scientific Congress on Martial Arts and Combat Sports

The 2009 edition of the Scientific Congress on Martial Arts and Combat Sports (SCMACS) will take place on 16th and 17th May 2009, in Viseu (Portugal). The organizing committee of this event fully believes that this initiative will provide a valuable opportunity to promote, enlarge and strengthen the scientific community gathered around martial arts and combat sports.

The central issue of this Congress is the interpretation (explanation and comprehension) of motricity in institutionalised human combat at the contextual levels of Martial Arts (MA), Combat Sports (CS) and Self-Defence (SD), and in relation to objectives usually associated with human educational development (health, education and well-being).

Participation in this congress should be as wide as possible. Human resources education and training, aiming at the development of skills throughout Polytechnic and University higher education study cycles, is a clearly medium-/long-term fundamental objective in Europe, with a growing presence in the markets of physical activity (health, well-being and fitness), sports (from education to sport practice) and school physical education (given the eclectic, inclusive and multilateral context of this school subject). This trajectory, however, should be followed in connection with empirical research developed at practice centres.

We firmly believe researchers, as well as undergraduate and post-graduate students (covering the levels of bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D.), in the field of martial arts and combat sports will be ready to present their research and share the richness of their experiences. This will surely contribute to strengthening this scientific community, which is growing and acquiring importance as a forum for the social development of Sports and Education at the European level and even worldwide, given its multicultural nature (East/West), usually more explored in non-scientific contexts.

In this way, we now challenge all cultural and scientific organisations, particularly higher education and research institutions developing scientific activities related to the field in question, as well as federations with public usefulness purposes in the scope of martial arts and combat sports, to disseminate this information among potentially interested researchers and practitioners, stimulating them to participate in this event as speakers and poster presenters. All committed communities of technicians and advanced practitioners of martial arts and combat sports will certainly be interested in participating in this congress and they can expect full support from us to do it.

The Congress is a non-profit event and no speaker fees will be paid by the organising committee. However, efforts will be carried out to cover foreign guest speakers’ logistic expenses (through registration fees funding). Any profit will be invested in the publication of the congress proceedings.

The financial management of this first edition may count on the professional support provided by ADIV (Viseu’s Association for Development and Research), which is integrated in the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, the higher education institution assuming the coordination of this congress, specifically through its School of Education .

Clube Eborense promove o seu 1.º jantar-debate

No passado dia 27 de Fevereiro, o Clube Eborense promoveu o seu primeiro jantar-debate, no Restaurante Arena d'Évora, pelas 20h00. O orador convidado foi o Dr. José Ernesto d'Oliveira, tendo ficado a apresentação da iniciativa a cargo do Prof. Arqt.º João Rosado Correia.

O Clube Eborense tem por objectivo principal promover jantares-debate em torno de temas que interessam aos cidadãos, procurando fomentar o respeito e a tolerância.

Estiveram presentes neste 1.º encontro 64 pessoas (médicos, empresários, advogados, professores universitários, estudantes, psicólogos, etc.), o que demonstra o interesse da iniciativa.

Os membros organizadores esperam promover outros eventos semelhantes, com outros intervenientes.
